Veeam Agent Linux
Hi everyone, i'm new in this community.
I got a problem with veeam agent for linux.
I had a server linux with daily backup till 20 december, the day my vmware (esxi 6.7) stopped working for techincal problem, and i had to delete and format the disk on the machine.
Now i want to restore my linux virtual machine, with my backup made with veam agent for linux.

Hi Mbmservicesrl,
Welcome to Veeam Community Forums!
So I suppose it's about time to perform a restore.
Thanks

Sorry, i was in the middle of a work and i didn't finish the post, really sorry.
Yep, with the only problem that i can't :/.
I can't restore because whenever i try to enter NAS data, check SMB it show CIFS error.
Basically i can't reach the backup...

Re: Veeam Agent Linux
It sounds like a connectivity or permissions issue. I would suggest investigating it with our technical support team directly.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Veeam Agent Linux
Another option would be to drop to CLI in the recovery media and try to mount the share manually using "mount.cifs" or "mount -t cifs"
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Veeam Agent Linux
When you boot from the Recovery ISO, you might have to set an IP address and gateway (e.g. if you don't have DHCP in the network of the machine that you're restoring the image onto). Might be worth statically setting the network anyway just in case (I tend to use the IP that I have already assigned to the machine that I'm restoring, as I know that no other machine should be using this ).
Here's a link to the documentation on how to set the network settings for restore:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=30
You might also try using the IP address of the backup server instead of the name, e.g. instead of \\backup_server\backup_share use \\10.10.10.10\backup_share

Re: Veeam Agent Linux
If the Linux VM you want to back-up is running on VmWare ESXi you're better off using the (free) Community Edition (max 10 vm's) of Veeam Backup & Replication.
That way restores are much easier because you can just restore to new VM. No need to fool around with recovery images or export to VMDK.

Re: Veeam Agent Linux
Hyper-V or VmWare ESXi standard, bot work just fine with B&R Community edition (free).
You can back-up and restore without using agents or recovery images or extract tools.

Re: Veeam Agent Linux
@sg_sc,
I guess @mbmservicesrl was trying to say that he is using free version of ESXi which doesn't work with VBR due to API limitations.
Thanks!
