Hello,
When we deployed Veeam Agent for Linux on our Physical servers, we also automated the creation of a Custom Veeam recovery Media .
The source used was the following ISO : veeam-recovery-media-2.0.0.400_x86_64.iso
The Custom ISO was stored localy, backuped on our repositories with the VAL deployed on it.
1 month ago, we updated our Veeam B&R to 9.5u4a, some Protection Group were configured with an auto-update agent. The last VAL version has been deployed on some Linux physical Servers.
Will our Custom Recovery Media Image still work with the new Agent Version, or must we generate a new Recovery Media with the last available version (veeam-recovery-media-3.0.1.1046_x86_64)
Regards.

Re: Veeam B&R u4a & Linux Recovery Media image
Hi,
It is advisable to update it as Recovery Media ensures only backward compatibility (i.e. older backups can be restored with a newer Recovery Media). On the other hand, if your servers do not have any specific drivers, then you can use the generic recovery available from the repository. Please also note that CLI is not guaranteed to stay unchanged forever, and you should incorporate success/failure checks in all of your automation scripts.
Thanks!
