veeam stopped working: kernel module not found
Have been using veeam for some time without issue, and it stopped working. This might be related to a recently updated kernel. Running veeam under Rocky Linux 9.3.
The symptom is that veeam aborts with "Veeam snapshot kernel module not found".
I think my correct kernel module would be blksnap. modprobe reports that blksnap is not loaded.
uname -r tells me my kernel is 5.14.0-362.18.1.el9_3.x86_64
But the most recent blksnap I see in /lib/modules is ./modules/5.14.0-362.13.1.el9_3.x86_64/weak-updates/blksnap.ko.xz
I have tried reinstalling veeam and reinstalling blksnap. How do I get blksnap updated to 362.18 instead of 362.13? Is that likely my problem?

Hello Howard,
For latest kernel version 5.14.0-362.18.1.el9_3, there is a patch to support it. BUT for supported distribution; RHEL, KB2804
As Rocky Linux is not supported at the moment, I would recommend you to reboot system with previous kernel version.
Meanwhile stay tuned for our upcoming release and distribution support. More on this forum topic about Rocky Linux.
Rovshan.

Re: veeam stopped working: kernel module not found
I created a support ticket to be provided with the RHEL patch, as indicated on KB2804.
Veeam support closed it as not having enough resources. How much resources does it take to send me a quick email with a patch file?

Hello Howard,
I see you got 2 cases, one closed (which you mentioned) and one new (07150038).
But your case involves a product using a free license and access to hot fixes, patches and updates requires an active maintenance contract for at least one deployment of the corresponding product. See the Veeam Customer Support Policy
And as I mentioned Rocky Linux is not supported at the moment, I would recommend you to reboot system with previous kernel version.
Thanks,
Rovshan

Re: veeam stopped working: kernel module not found
Rebooting the system with a previous kernel breaks other things, and is a non-starter as a suggestion.
When will this patch be available?
