Veeam Logoby gtaylor » Mon Jul 16, 2018 9:00 pm

VAO is getting license error process the replication for recovery group to second site
There are more than enough licenses (750 ) listed on VAO server

Processing serverxyz Error: Cannot process new VMs because allowed limits for platform VMware have been exceeded

Is there a way to see how many jobs have been processed?
No Allowed licenses have been used to temporarily exceed the license count.

Hello Greg,

We will confirm the exact source of that error message, is it is not a standard VAO license error.

Can you confirm your configuration please?
- How many VMs do you have in VAO plans (in total)?. It is the total which is counted for licensing purposes, not just the VMs currently being processed.
- How many VMs do you have licensed in Veeam Backup & Replication? This B&R license is separate from the VAO license. For VAO to process VMs, it integrates with B&R, therefore B&R should also be licensed.

To simplify the investigation, it would be good if we had the logs. You can export Log Bundle from VAO in the Configuration - Logs page.

If you could open a support case, they can assist you to collect all the required logs and information.

Thanks!

Hello Greg,

From our investigations, we believe that you have not (fully) licensed the Veeam Backup & Replication (B&R) server. As I said above, the B&R license is separate from VAO license.

Even if using the embedded B&R server which is automatically installed on the VAO server - still you should license the embedded B&R, if it will be used for replication, backup or other such task. By default, the embedded B&R only has a license for 1 VM (included only to unlock the PowerShell functionality we use for orchestration).
If you want to fully use the embedded B&R server, you should open the B&R console on the VAO server and install your full B&R license there.

Alternatively, if you are using a remote B&R server managed by the VAO agent, please also check that the remote B&R has your full license applied.

Hope the above helps. I would still recommend opening a support case with Veeam in order for them to confirm the problem.

Regards,
Alec
