Application aware warning

Hi, I'm trying to get VSS application aware snapshots working, and I'm getting the following error, any ideas?

26/02/2021 00:00:46 :: Failed to create VSS snapshot for instance xxxxxxxxxxx: Could not access the AWS API, therefore, VolumeId is not available.
Verify that your instance role has Describe-Instances permission.

VSS integrations are installed on the instance, and we haven't really changed any permissions from the defaults in the cloud formation template.

Hi Lando, it looks like you are missing a permission on the instance role as it states. Can you verify the role you are using has Describe-Instances attached to it?

Also, make sure you apply the correct policy (AmazonSSMManagedInstanceCore) to the used IAM role. For more information, please refer to the AWS documentation.
