Re: Backup FsX
Hi Steve,
FSx is currently not supported within Veeam Backup for AWS. A workaround would be to mount the data and back it up using NAS backup included in Veeam Backup & Replication.
Are you using FSx on Windows or Lustre?

Re: Backup FsX
We are using FsX on Windows, we had considered the approach you suggested but its a very inefficient way to backup and erodes a lot of the benefits of FsX

Understood. We have it on our longer roadmap but for now, I can’t provide an ETA when it will be delivered.

Re: Backup FsX
We are facing the same challenge. We need to be able to efficiently backup FsX in AWS. My vote to move it higher on the priority list!

Re: Backup FsX
Any update on supporting Fsx with Veeam for AWS? We have a need for this support as well?

Re: Backup FsX
Hi Michael,
It will not be part of the upcoming release but it's high on our priority list for our longer roadmap. For now, VBR is the workaround until we add native support in our cloud solutions.

Re: Backup FsX
Hello, I just wanted to provide another vote for native backup support for AWS FSx for NetApp ONTAP file systems. This would be an excellent feature for our mutual Veeam and AWS FSx customers.

Re: Backup FsX
Our NAS file backup is incremental forever and can be used today for the mentioned environments. From cost side I think this is as well on the lower side against cost for long time snapshots in AWS. Can you please share what you mean that our NAS backup is not efficient in that case?

Hi Bill,
Your request is noted and we'll look into native protection for a future release but I cannot provide an ETA for it. The workaround would be to utilize VBR with our NAS engine to protect your shares.
