Hi,
If backups only occur once a day, is it possible to turn the Veeam appliance off in AWS and only schedule to turn it back on as required?
Kind Regards,
Edward

Re: Can the Veeam appliance be turned off
it wouldn’t be recommended. It’s not that expensive of an appliance size by default.
There are tasks that run routinely, as well as the VPC policy would run when there are updates to any VPC settings. There are update checks, and other checks for automated protections. Not to mention the cloud watch rules to keep the instance alive.
What would be your use case for this?

Re: Can the Veeam appliance be turned off
Thanks. based on what you've said, keeping it online makes sense.
Its mainly just a cost saving measure. "pay for what you use" and avoid paying AWS more than necessary.
Thanks for the speedy response.

Edward
