Disable Warning in VBO V 2

Post by agrob »

Good Day

Since update to VBO Version 2 i get the Warning Message "Backup to <Repositoryname> repository might end up in potential high costs". Is there a way to disable this Warning? As far as i have seen, there is no Setting for this in the VBO web gui.
Thanks

Hi, you are correct. This can’t be disabled. It is shown due to several reasons which you can see via the cost estimation step.

Thanks. We have wo jobs. One has cost estimation about 80$/Month one about 40$/Month... so no big deal. It is not ideal to have this warning on every backup session. It should be an option to disable this.

Andre, can you please share what are the details in your case that triggered this warning? As for the FR to disable this warning, then we will see what we can do in our next updates.

Hello Vitaliy

It does report a Warning with Message "Backup to <Repositoryname> repository might end up in potential high costs".
In the Report Email under Details the first row is:

Name: Execution plan creation
Status: Warning
Details: Backup to <Repositoryname> repository might end up in potential high costs

This does result in the Notification mail that the Status is set to "Warning". I have to check now every day if the Job status is Warning because of this or if a VM has an error....

Hope we have a Solution for this very soon.

Thanks

Cannot promise anything, but I will bring this up on our weekly meetings with the RnD team. Thanks for the heads up!

Andre, a quick follow-up from my side > we will remove these warnings from the policy sessions in our next major release. You will see that warning only when configuring or editing the backup policy. Thanks!

Thank you from me as well! Our management is not concerned with the current cost of storage for Veeam backups and having to open every job every day to see that same warning (and not some other warning masked by it), will not be missed.
