Hi everyone, Hi Veeam team,
we ran into an issue regarding file level restore from a disk with ntfs dedublication (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windo ... all-enable) active. The restore explorer just showed an empty folder. Restoring the whole folder resultet in error messages. The provided workaround, to restore the whole disk, is quite expensive as our disks have 10-40 TB. And you cant even be sure if the file is in there upfront.
So we thought about fixing this in two possible ways:
[*] adding the feature to the linux restore vm which does the restore initiated from the GCP console
[*] adding archive restore to Veeam B&R console (like standard storage already is)
A way to deal with this situation in a cost effective way would be the feature request. I would love to get some feedback regarding a possible implementation.
From a dayli business point of view these FLR ist he most common usecase. Restoring whole VMs or disks happens quite seldom.
If neccesary I can add much more detail but everything should be within the case provided in the titel.
BR
Johannes

Re: Feature request FLR from archive storage of ntfs dedublicated disc, case 07341750
Hi,
We'll look into this for a future release but I can't promise an ETA for when this will be resolved/implemented. Looks like we have most of thedetails from the case.
