Accessing VB365 object storage backups from VBR

Post by Regnor »

Hi everyone!
VB365 is deployed inside a virtual machine and uses object storage for storing the backups.
The VB365 VM is backed up via VBR and therefore VBR now lists EXO, Sharepoint, etc as Application items.
If I try to restore such items, the corresponding explorer opens but stays empty and the log shows "Repository databases not found".
This makes sense as the data isn't inside the backed up VM but external in the object storage.
But now I was wondering, if there's any way to get this working so that VBR can access the VB365 backup data.
Or will this, by design, not work and you would always have to connect to the VB365 instance?

This is by design because we need the actual service running to connect to the object storage. We are already thinking and planning on how to solve this with the explorers in the future, but nothing definite planned at this point in time
