Adding Backup Proxy Error

Post by NYTECJ »

My existing B&R infrastructure is using a Windows NAS server as my B&R repository.
Installed VBO on it's own VM. Everything is installed flawlessly. Except, when adding a Backup Proxy within VBO, I get error "Configure proxy. Error: Proxy connection to server failed: No DNS entries exist for host veeamo365."
The NAS is on a different vLAN. VBO is on a 192.168.1.0/24 vLAN, NAS is on a 10.0.0.0/24 vLAN. Since both are on the same switch, just different vLANS there is no physical firewall
Windows Firewalls on both are off.

Was not planning on setting NASSTORE as a proxy, can I just use it as a Repository? Opened support case, 04140190

It should work if it is a windows server and match the supported systems. It looks like it can’t reach the server but let’s wait for support.

Support indicates both servers need to be on the same domain.
I've asked for a feature request allowing this repository requirement be lifted. If my B&R repository works just fine without being on a domain, I can't see why not the same with VBO.

Yes, it is required to be part of the same domain. It wasn't clear from your initial post that this wasn't the case. We've had this request before and your vote is added.
