Hello,
I would like to know what is the best way to use the different kind of object storage available on Azure with my Veeam M365 backup solution.
I have read some documentation (Azure, Veeam and best practice) but I can not find the best way for the cool storage tier.
Using the backup job on an hot tier storage and then a backup copy job to move it to archive tier seems to be the default idea.
As I read on the Veeam BP : " Do not setup tiering policies on the object storage side. This is not supported and will break things." I'm looking for a way to use the cool tier to get a better optimization.
Thank you for your feedback,
Sincerely,
-

Re: Azure object storage BP hot, cool, archive
Hello Vernholles
Azure Blob Cool storage is helpful for infrequently accessed data and if your data is stored longer than 30 days.
How long do do you plan to store backups in your primary backup repository?
Best,
Fabian

Hello,
Thank you for the feedback, we plan to store backup on GFS mode like for couple of year it's why we would like to use hot, cool and archive tier to take advantage of each one.

Re: Azure object storage BP hot, cool, archive
VB365 doesn't provide a "GFS backup mode".
It's a forever incremental backup. Only changes and new items will be protected.
Best,
Fabian
