Backing up large environments

Post by ITENOS-Kai »

Hi there,
right now we have an inquiry to backup up a new potential customers M365 environment with 50-60k users.
Since we would have to split these maximum 60000 users in at least 12 backup jobs and at least 12 different proxies, I'm not sure how to split up the users between these proxies. Is there a mechanism, which i don't know of or is there maybe a powershell script we could use, which does the magic automatically?
The inquiry is for Exchange and OneDrive.

Thank you and kind regards,

Kai

Hi Kai,

PowerShell script could do the trick indeed. We have also built-in mechanism to divide your jobs on (for example) AAD security groups which is most often used when dividing users into different jobs

Thanks,

You have to create your own different jobs, but inside a job you can create a selection based on (for example) a security group.
