Hi,
Is it possible to specify that Veeam for 365 should only backup users that have say a E3 mailbox?
We get a lot of temporary students doing work for a few weeks, and I don't want to keep having to exclude them manually.

Re: Backup Account by Licence?
Hi Daithi
VB365 doesn't have such filter. But you can use Groups as a Backup Source.
If you leverage group based licensing in M365 to assign the E3 license, you can reuse this groups to backup the Exchange Online mailboxes from this users. Just add the Group instead of a user as the Source for your Exchange Online backup job. When you join users to the group, the Users gets automatically the E3 license and VB365 will backup the users from the group.
If you don't have group based licensing, create a new Azure Security Group and manage the Users you want to backup with this group.
If you do also Teams and Sharepoint Backups, you still need to license the temporary students if they have access to the Teams and Sharepoint Sites.
Thanks
Fabian
