Backup-Limitation - Teams private Channel

Hi,

are there any news / ETA on complete Backup for Teams private channels?
We're having some customers which are heavily using teams private channels with e.g. Custom SharePoint Lists, etc.

In current V7 documentation teams private channel data is still listed in limitation-table:

As competitiors are offering full teams standard- and private-channel backup, this is probably no Microsoft API-Limitation.

Is there any workaround or roadmap, we could share with our customer on this topic?

Hi Florian,

It is not a API limitation, it is indeed possible to do this. However, the cost of those API calls is very high as there is no duplication in those calls which makes 1 message in a private channel be protected X times (Where X is the amount of users in that channel). Duplication is coming and then we can enable it in our solution. So it is on the roadmap
