Backup sharepoint don't work - Case 04782342
Hello,
after O365 from germany datacenter migrate to global datacenter, we change the setting for Region from Germany to Default and
the authentication method is "Organizations with Modern Authentication and Legacy Protocols"
Following errors occur during connecting test(the last step of creating a O365 Organization):
Connect to SharePoint: The sign-name or password does not match one in the Microsoft account system
Check LegacyAuthProtocolsEnabled: The sign-name or password does not match one in the Microsoft account system
Any suggestions to get this work?

because we use a community edtion of veeam o365 backup, the Case 0478234 is already on 05/02/2021 closed and archived.
we have not get any answers from the veeam support.

Since you have migrated, could it be that your security settings on that user have changed?
Normally, when you get this specific error it could mean a few things:
1. Your password is wrong OR disabled or even locked out (I have seen users disabled after a migration)
2. Your account is now MFA enabled and legacy protocols are not allowed anymore
I think it would be good if you could look into these items
Since you have migrated, could it be that your security settings on that user have changed?

the security setting should be correct, because "Connect to Microsoft Graph", Connect to EWS" and " Connect to PowerShell" ... are successfully.
This migration was executed by Microsoft, and the URL for Sharepoint Online was not changed (for example:xxx.sharepoint.de was not changed) to Global domain. Is this a reason for our problem?

Your organization might be in the transition phase of the migration and VBO is not able to identify the correct endpoints 'out of the box'. To get the hotfix, please re-open your support case (or create a new call and let me know its ID).

In our case the solution was to disable legacy authentication for the organisation settings in Veeam backup for Microsoft 365.
The root cause was that the Veeam organisation settings was enabled for using legacy authentication protocols while the Microsoft Tenant settings were already using MFA only.
Also we have changed settings of VBO app authentication of this customer of ours to allow public client flows (like other customers already had).
