Hello All,
Does anyone know how I can automate/create a backup job to offline/cold storage?
At the moment our backup is approximately 10TB, I am looking into options how I can backup the backup to disk that I can place in a volt or at least somewhere offline.
We want to minimize the risk of being compromised or at the minimum have an offline backup in case of emergency.
Thank you
W

Re: Backup to offline/cold storage
Hello Backupwest
Welcome to the forum.
It depends on what type of backup repository you have.
- jet database based repositories:
Create VSS enabled backups of the entire VB365 server + repository with Veeam Backup & Replication or Veeam Agent. This backup (vbk, vib) could be stored on Tape or an external disk.
- object storage based repositories:
Use a backup copy job to copy restore points to Azure Archive or AWS Glacier. Immutability is supported for the backup copy. You can also choose from S3 compatible providers or on-premise appliances.
Best,
Fabian
