backups for office 365
are the backups for office 365 encrypted in transit????

First: Welcome to the forums!
To answer your question: We use the EWS mechanism to backup the data. This means that exactly the same mechanism is used when you download an email from the O365 server to your local computer/ Outlook. It is obviously a bit different, but the sending/ receiving of data remains the same. So the data being downloaded is encrypted through the use of TLS
