Connect to Microsoft Graph not working

Hello,

we want to evaluate Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 with the Community Edition. I've prepared my tenant with application registration and app password for a global administrator and I added the organization within the wizard:

Deployment type: Microsoft 365 with all three services
Region: Germany
Authentication method: Modern authentication

Application ID, Secret and App password is configured
Grant permission and use the same credentials for all services is configured

Now Veeam tries to verify the connection and organization parameters but it stucks in the "Connect to Microsoft Graph" process.

I see in our firewall logs that the connection to several Microsoft IPs was permitted, so the connection wasn't blocked.

Did I something wrong?

For Germany, Modern App Only is not supported. What you are trying todo will not work. It's a known limitation.

Adding Microsoft 365 organizations using modern app-only authentication is not supported for Microsoft Azure Germany region. For limitations in Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 functionality when protecting organizations with modern app-only authentication, see this Veeam KB article.

You must add it with Organizations with Modern Authentication and Legacy Protocols.

Hi Redhorse,

Modern Authentication for Germany region is not supported (it is in the release notes). May I ask when you are moving away from the German region? Since it is being deprecated (but I am not sure anymore what the latest date is when all tenants are moved to the general region...)

oh dear, that was my fault! I mixed it up... region Germany is the legacy option Germany... I've changed it do default region and no I am one step further.
