Hello everyone,
I'm looking to set up a couple of auxiliary accounts to enhance performance during backups for SharePoint and OneDrive. I've tried following the script provided in the link below, but I'm encountering errors, possibly related to 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication), though I'm not certain.
Is there documentation available that outlines how to manually configure these accounts? Thanks.

Re: Creating Veeam Auxiliary account for M365
Hello Max
Veeam Auxiliary accounts were used for organizations added with basic/legacy auth.
Legacy auth was deprecated by Microsoft: https://www.veeam.com/kb4365
You need to switch your configuration as soon as possible to Modern App-Only Authentication. Our upcoming version 8 of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 won't allow you to edit or register new organizations with basic/legacy Authentication.
I recommend to run your backup jobs first without additional backup applications. If you still face performance issue with backup jobs, please open a support case first before creating more backup applications. Microsoft only allows one application:

Best,Due to recent restrictions that were applied by Microsoft, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 invokes you to use a single Azure AD application when backing up data in your production SharePoint environment.
In large-scale environments, you can use multiple backup applications to perform the initial backup under the supervision of Veeam Customer Support specialists. For all subsequent incremental backups, a single Azure AD application should be used.
