Failed to backup list: Value does not fall within the expected range
We have a backup customer encountering this warning on backup of one of their SharePoint sites. This customer is in a non-English jurisdiction and most/all content is in Arabic. Is this likely to be an issue with encoding and is there any easy way to remedy? Worth raising a support case? TIA.

Niels is correct. There are a number of reasons why this can occur, and most likely it is a specific configuration setting on that specific list or library. Most likely the list view lookup threshold that is configured incorrectly (too low). Or they are using too much columns in that specific list
