Hi Guys,
I am currently running the initial backup of all our users in Veeam for Office 365, it is running well but there are a large number of users getting the error message below.
Processing mailbox <UserName> failed with error: Failed to download some of the items. Failed items count: X.
Is there anyway to resolve this issue?

Best way forward is to keep working with our support team to troubleshoot this issue. Unfortunately we cannot solve such issues over the forum. Our forum is not run by technical support team. Our support team will be able to analyze the log files and find the cause of the issue.

Seems to be a pretty common error message, I would expect there would be something in the knowledge base around this - No?

Yes, if we see an issue related to the same cause in multiple support cases, we may create a KB article for it.
But not every single issue gets a KB article. Especially such issues as you are facing. The cause of it could be anything, therefore it's important that our customer support can analyze the debug log files from your deployment.
We cannot do that over a forum post.

Seems bug ridden IMO .... I'm a new customer with the same question.
My initial organization backup has one of these errors for about 60% of our mailboxes: "Failed items count: 1"
Some have 2 or 3 but most only 1.
