Failed to process team - Failed to find Team mailbox owner account

Hi,

This issue is being worked on as support case #05416062

In the teams backup we have this error all over

Failed to process team: <teamname>. Failed to find Team mailbox owner account.

When we check in the team/group in the admin portal in O365, the mentioned team site is remarked with 'This group has no owners assigned to manage group members and group data'.

Our O365 admin says this is as it should be in our setup and this should not be a problem for the backup. Also that to maintain a group owner for every site would be a ad-hoc job forever.

Are we doing something out of the ordenary with our O365 setup? Or should we be able to configure VBO to ignore those errors?

Hi Johannes

Our Backup Jobs are using impersonation to backup objects in M365. We need a owner for accessing the team. And a Team without an owner can be considered as orphaned group.
Microsoft recommends to have a few owner per team.

Owners can make other members owners in the View teams option. A team can have up to 100 owners. We recommend that you have at least a few owners to help manage the team; this will also prevent orphaned groups if a sole owner leaves your organization. For more information about orphaned groups, see Assign a new owner to an orphaned group.
Either add at least one owner, if you want to have backups of this teams, or exclude them in the backup job, if they don't have to be backed up.
