Can I just add my voice to the chorus of displeasure regarding the Sharepoint Online Licensing.
I've just been asked to provide backup for a small departmental sharepoint site and this per user licening makes it unworkable/unaffordable.
I was also going to push the 365 mailbox backup for key users - note NEVER all users - but this looks unlikely now, too!
Please please provide a means to backup Sharepoint without per user licening!!!

Just to add that for smaller deployments we provide a Community Edition, which allows to protect up to 10 users at no cost.
