Hello,
Are there any plans or existing feature requests to establish a certificate authentication method for SharePoint restores how it does exist for Exchange-online restores, since this Impersonation Role got deprecated?
It would be very helpful in fact that service or personal user accounts of customers are risky and problematic for restoration process authorization. A customer does not want to share powerful 365x7x24h admin service accounts and uses PIM solutions to cut permissions for such restore process authentications. Instead of certificate authentication methods would be very handy for SharePoint-Restore authorizations, in fact that these certificates already exist.
Thanks,

Re: Feature Request - certificate authentication method for Sharepoint restores
Hi Oleg,
Thank you for this feature request. It's on the radar, but there are no short-term plans given that it's already possible via the restore portal and REST APIs.
Thanks!
