Dears,
background:
my customer want to backup VIP user every half day.
however, the periodically schedule has only few options to choose which is not cover all the scenarios.
(now is 5mins, 10mins, 15mins, 30mins, 1hr, 2hr, 4hr and 8hr only)
my suggestion:
i would like to suggest to remake periodically schedule with total 2 fields,
the first field is, enter when to start, such like 14-Aug-2020 11:15AM
the second field is, enter N minutes to run job periodically, just like helpcenter explained.
(ie. 2 minutes; then job will run on 11:15 -> 11:17 -> 11:19 etc...)
the result is, the job will relate to first field to count every N minutes, instead of when to trigger run job first time.
and user can choose the desired N minutes to run backup jobs.
these changes also for some user want to run jobs on exact time(ie. 12:00)

Re: Feature request: configure periodically backup every N minutes
Hello,
and welcome to the forums. I cannot say anything about future scheduling options, but could you explain why the customer is not happy with every 8h when he requests only every 12h?
From a mathematical point of view, 3 backups per day is better than 2 backups per day.
Best regards,
Hannes

Hi @vignsc
We are working on something where this periodic schedule will be adaptable. This will still mean the start will be calculated from a specific point in time, but you will be a able to define an offset, making it possible what you require.

the starting point is customer would like to align backup policy with another product (ie. VBR).
Of cause, i can explain to them 8 hr policy is better than 12 hr.
but i think VBO should still provide a better solution on periodically backup.
