Hi,
We have an issue with a file that as been reported with a possible virus in Veeam for O365: "Item may have a virus reported by the virus scanner plug-in"
We ask the user to delete this file, but now the file is in the preservation hold and still giving warning about possible virus.
Our preservation old policy on microsoft is to keep every thing for 3 years that mean we will have this warning every days for the next 3 years.
Do you have a solution to exclude preservation hold or any other way to stop backup this file and having a succesful job?
Case # 05194198 Support told me that there is nothing to do and that i will have this warning everyday
Thank you

Re: File In Preservation Hold
Hey Andre,
Yes, as long as that file is there, it will give the warning. To be honest, I am a bit surprised that removing that file goes to the preservation hold. It is the first time I hear from this as normally the tenant removes the file and it should be done.
I think ideally you create a support call with MSFT saying such an item is in your preservation hold
Secondly, we are aware that a warning is annoying, and we have been thinking a few months already how to improve that system. I can't give you an exact answer yet as we are still having discussions around it. I think you understand that keeping this warning is important to catch these type of files, on the other hand, having green backups is also important...
I hope it makes sense
