Group Site/Mail and Teams best practice.

Post by moh@dhigroup.com »

Now that you can select Teams in Veeam Office365 V5, what's the best way to back up Teams.
Before V5 I created a job with all Office 365 Groups and marked Group Site and Group Mailbox.
After I upgrade to V5, I've created a new job that adds all Teams Sites.
The problem is that I get a warning on a lot of sites in the Office 365 Group job after the Teams job has run once:
"Sitexxxxxxxx is already being processed by another job" and I see that there are things that the Teams job does not back up, as the Group job does.
I get his error in relation to both site and mailbox.
And if I have both jobs running, don't I back up the files twice?
Regards
Morten

Hi Morten,

To back up Teams data in v5, simply add Teams objects to a job. For each team, VBO protects a couple of group mailbox folders (for chat messages), a document library from its team site (where all shared files and folders stored), and Teams metadata - everything needed to restore either an entire team or specific files or messages shared within this team.

Let's say there's a team and you back it up as a Teams object in one job and as a group object with mail and site selected in another job. If both jobs are pointed to the same repository, VBO will reuse the data with no duplicates.

Hi Polina.
Thanks for your answer. I will try to have only one job for O365 Groups Site/Mailbox and Teams.
Regards
Morten
