High numbers of HTTP status code 412

Hi, We have a ticket open with support where we are seeing thousands of errors like below in the VBO 365 logs. We are seeing some really slow speeds on this Sharepoint 365 backup job which could be explained by all these errors and retries. Has anyone else come across this at all?

Warning: HTTP status code 412 returned for /sites/Departments/Shared Documents/document.name . Download will be retried

Interestingly, Warning: HTTP status code 412 is the error that we get when a file is changed during the backup and so has to be retried. An example 412 error filepath pointed to a sharepoint document which I tracked down. It was a legacy document from 2019. last modfied date was 2019. No changes have been made to the document since it was migrated into SP months ago. Version history is still saying v1.0 because the doc hasn't changed. Yet we were getting 412 item changed error at almsot 12 at night when the office are even closed!

Hi Alan,

I'm keeping your case on the radar. So far, RnD could not identify any good reason why VBO receives information on constantly changing items, and going further we'll engage Microsoft team to see what we are missing.
