Hi,
I'd like to connect to our VBO365-Server through Veeam Explorer for Microsoft exchange FROM ANOTHER VM but cannot make it work.
For this I installed the Veeam Explorer and entered the VBO365 IP adress and my Domain-user credentials. I Tried different Port numbers like 9194 (which should be opened according to the docs) and the default port 9392.
But it tries to connect forever and then fails with the following message:
"veeam explorermanagementservice failed to create explorer session"
I made sure, that ports are opened (turned off local firewall on both sides and checked with telnet)
I do a very similar thing when I connect to the Veeam Backup & Replication Server, which is installed on another VM. It works fine. Just doesn't work with Exchange Explorer.
Am I doing something wrong?
Is there a dependency I'm missing?
EDIT: It works from another (a third) machine where Veeam Backup and Replication is installed. There I can start Exchange explorer, insert IP and user Credentials aswell as Remote Port 9194 and it connects just fine.
Is having a veeam 10 installation next to exchange explorer necessary to connect to a remote VBO365 installation?

Re: How do I connect Explorer for Microsoft Exchange from a remote machine
So to be correct, you just installed the Veeam Explorer without VBR and VBO365? If so, then what you are seeing is correct as there are some parts needed which are included in VBR or VBO365 to make the connection work.

Re: How do I connect Explorer for Microsoft Exchange from a remote machine
I tried with VBR11 however, cant find a decent solution. Support told me to look at https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=50 however I feel lost
question is quite simple, how can we install the explorers on a remote machine to connect to the VBO365 server. As I understand some components need to be added, any help would be appreciated

Re: How do I connect Explorer for Microsoft Exchange from a remote machine
@lowlander you should be able to install the Veeam explorers on a remote machine. What support told you is in the case of a tenant, using the Veeam Explorers to restore his data from a service provider. For that we need Cloud Connect to work. Which is not your goal if I am not mistaken
The only thing I can think off at this moment is the version of the explorer is wrong. Can you check if both explorers (the one of the VBR vm) and the one that is failing are the same?

This article shows that it is possible by the way, and is, your scenario?
