Immutability for object storage?

Hello,

In going through the forum posts on here, it is mentioned that VBO v7 will have immutability support. What I am not clear on is, will this be supported for the backup job or backup copy jobs only?

Is there any ETA when v7 will be released?

At VeeamON update a few weeks ago it was shown at the backup copy job level for now, I am not sure if the recording is there still.

Regarding GA, no clear date as of yet, the normal when it is ready, we should expect a beta dropping earlier than GA as we have seen in previous releases I hope.

So, hope we can give it a better deeper try soon

The backup copy job as per documentation supports Azure Blob Storage Archive access tier, Amazon S3 Glacier storage class, or Amazon S3 Glacier Deep Archive storage class.

Can we use Wasabi for the "backup copy job" or are we locked to Azure/Amazon for this job type?

If I am not mistaken it is any Object Storage source, and those you mention as backup copy repo. On all of those when adding them, you need additional compute privileges, as we need a temporary data mover to copy blocks, hence those privileges on the target side.

The plan for VB365 V7 is to allow any object storage as a target for backup copy jobs.
