immutability?

Post by pesos »

I configured a backblaze b2 bucket to extend a veeam o365 repository, but I'm not seeing any way to enable immutability on it. How is this done?

Thanks!

Hi John,

VBO doesn't yet support immutable backups.

Well that explains that!

Is there an eta for this?

What are the workarounds? Backing up our o365 repository via B&R to an immutable repository?

That might be an option if you use a local repository, but would be worth testing it first.

Built-in support is on the roadmap, but there's no ETA I could share at this point.

That is a real bummer about the timing since the vast majority of our data has now migrated to o365.

Any thoughts on how would you want it to be implemented?

Would it need to be radically different from how b&r does it?

Pesos,

There will be certainly a big difference. B&R is doing snapshots (so image-level backup) where VBO is application-level backup so the way the information is stored is very differently.

Thanks mike. I imagine it will be different but I figured even the ability to treat it like an immutable backup copy would be nice insurance.
