Issues with Teams Backup After Upgrading to Version 8

Hi everyone,

Has anyone else encountered problems with backing up Teams after upgrading to version 8?

For most of our customers, the upgrade hasn't caused any issues. However, we are facing significant problems with Teams backup on two customer environments, preventing us from completing the backup since upgrading to version 8.

Both environments are running the latest version (8.1.0.331) but are experiencing different errors:

Customer 1 (Using Proxy Pool) – Case #07605391 - we are seeing different errors:
  • Error: An item with the same key has already been added. Key: xxxxxx, message key: xxxxx, service: ResolverService
  • Error: Processing team posts XXXX failed – The response status code does not indicate success: 504 (Gateway Timeout).
  • Error: Processing team posts xxxxx failed – Object processing already canceled by: ServiceCancellationToken.
  • Error: Failed to process team: IXxxxx. Unexpected behavior occurred: an object was returned for processing.
This issue has been ongoing since the upgrade on 16/02, and despite logging a support case, we've seen no progress. The customer has been without a Teams backup ever since. Other backup jobs are mostly completing as expected.

Customer 2 (Single Proxy) – Case #07532679
  • Error: The response status code does not indicate success: 400 (Bad Request). The specified page token value has expired and can no longer be included in your request.
    This issue has persisted since upgrading to version 8 on 06/12/2024, leaving the customer without a Teams backup for over two months.
Both cases represent major SLA breaches, and we are increasingly frustrated with the lack of response or progress from support. We have tried requesting updates through the portal and raised severity to 1.

Before version 8, we did not have any problems backing up Teams.

Has anyone else faced similar problems, or found a workaround?

Hi Thomas,

So far, I haven't heard of any patterns like this on .331.

I see both cases were opened 2-3 days ago, while you're saying that your customers have been suffering from the issue for over two months already. Is there any specific reason why the problem was not escalated to Veeam earlier?

Hi Polina

Case #07605391 was opened after the upgrade on 16/2-2025 was made and we saw Teams couldn't complete.
Case #07532679 was opened 7/12-2024 after upgrade and after we saw Teams couldn't complete.

Are you sure you looked up the right cases?
