Items moved to Archive

Post by bertdhont »

Can someone tell me what happens with items moved to the Online Archive?

Suppose we have a backup job that takes a backup of both Mail and Archive.
Once a mail item is moved from the maibox to the archive, what will Veeam do with this item?

Will Veeam see this as a new item (new in Archive) and take a backup of that item?
In that case, item will be stored 2 times in the backup database (1x the original item that will be saved in the backup for as long as the retention policy on the repository is configured, and 1x the item in the archive).
Or will Veeam know that this is the same item and it is already in his backup database, so there will only be 1 copy of the mail in our DB?

Hi Bert

It will be seen as a new Item. Veeam will take a backup of this item and store it a second time in the jet database.
