Licensing multi-tenants

Post by yellowonline »

I would like to backup several customers from a single console as it is rather inefficient to setup a VM for every single one of them.
The problem is that I cannot add multiple licenses in the console. I looked at https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110 and think it must be possible with another kind of license, but that documentation is not clear for me. In the end i want to tell my Sales Team to send the license they got back (if possible) and get another kind of license so I can manage multiple tenants.
What exactly should I tell my Sales?

Hi yellowonline

You need to be a registered veeam service provider todo that.
When you get registered as a veeam service provider, you can get access to veeam rental licensing to provide this backup services to your customers. If each customer wants to use their own license, you need to have different dedicated backup servers.
A single backup server cannot use different licenses.

Some information about rental licensing

And the VCSP partnership with veeam.

Hi Mildur. It's an error from our sales, because we are already a Service Provider. They weren't aware the system is the same for O365 backups. Is there any solution to convert the existing license? I presume Techdata will not take the license back after one week.

Converting will not work.
If you have already bought the enduser licenses, you must talk to techdata to find a solution. I‘m afraid that you are right about not be able to return the licenses. But best would be to talk to them about the request. I don‘t know about the license return policy. But I‘m sure they will check every possible option with veeam.

@yellowonline

Sorry for the late reply, had to verify some things. As you are a registered service provider, please contact your Veeam sales if things with TechData don't work out. I'm sure they will be able to do something
