Hi,
Our client is using the Veeam Data Cloud (VDC) for M365 to back up their M365 data and is satisfied with its backup and restoration features.
However, they have raised concerns about the auditing capabilities of the system. While the user activity logs show restoration actions, they do not provide details on which specific emails have been restored. Similarly, when an admin views an email body, the logs do not specify which email or subject was accessed. For auditing and confidentiality purposes, our client requires detailed logs indicating which emails have been restored or viewed by the admin. Could we explore options to enhance our auditing functionality to meet this requirement?
Additionally, the client has requested to receive a monthly activity report via email. Is it possible to implement this feature?
Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Limited Auditing feature in Veeam Data Cloud for M365
Hey,
Some of those items are certainly on the roadmap, but it might take some time to get those in the product as we are working currently on a lot of new functionality to enhance the product even further.
Just to be completely sure about this request:
1. When an admin (with the correct permissions) looks into an email body (preview) a log should indicate that the email was "viewed"
2. Emails restored / viewed. Only those 2 actions? Or does the customer wants to see an activity log that shows ALL of the actions (including opening files/ downloading/ export/ ...) I assume it has to have every "action" that has been taken.
3. That report needs to include the above only? Or also logins from admins to the actual portal, changes they made... Or do they see that last one as a different type of activity?
Let me know
Thanks
Mike

Re: Limited Auditing feature in Veeam Data Cloud for M365
Hi
sorry for a late reply, from your statement it was great to read it that some feature will be added in future.
1. For this just clarification that our client also wants to know if admin read email body of another user other admin will know what email that other admin have read not just shown admin viewed the email but also subject of the email to know if any breach of secrecy occurs.
2. This is related with the above also client want to know if admin can know what subject email that other admin have restored currently we just know that email have been restored but doesnt know what email is it the concern if this can cause any leak information occur.
3. Want to seperate the email regarding monitoring of backup and activity that occur in VDC but the main point is can we get monthly report for our client auditing
