Hey guys,
i have a question regarding load balancing on an VBO365 backup proxy if it used by two or more running backup jobs at the same time.
is there any documentation available about how it works if there more than one job is using a backup proxy?
Is it only balanced by the number of threads which is configured on each proxy.
Let us assume that default value of 64 is configured on a VBO365 backup proxy. Two backup jobs are running at the same time backing up Exchange Online mailboxes.
The value 64 is divided by 2 and each job can use 32 threads. Is it so as easy as i think? Or is it little bit more complex.
Greetings,
Chris

Re: Load balancing on backup proxy with more than one running backup job
Hi Chris,
It's balanced by threads distribution, and each type of data (Exchange/SharePoint) has its own mechanism.
Basically, it's more or less what you described, but a bit more complex )
A couple of threads are used only to enumerate objects and add them to a backup job, others are distributed based on their availability, max threads counts for folders processing, and so on.
