Mailboxes just skipped from backup without warning?
Hello,
When the number of mailboxes exceeded the amount of licenses, mailboxes are skipped from backup without warning?
Due to some misunderstanding how the license counting works, some users or mailboxes are now backupped what was not needed. They are now excluded from the back-up, but there are still mailboxes not being backupped. The logfile send by e-mail is not clear about this, it only reports [Success] and 0 issues.
Regards, Edwin

Hi Edwin,
If you are over the amount of licenses, then it will give a warning (and there is the grace period).
But, if you are out of licenses because of the previous backup of those users, then the license that was consumed by that user(s) will be released after 31 days. However, you can always create a support call for this. The release of that license after x days is a measurement we had to take.
So create a support call (post the case ID here) so they can fix it.
Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply. case id is # 03284013
From Veeam Support, there are two solutions, wait for 31 days or start from scratch. That's not what i expected.

Edwin

Edwin,
In the future we will have a way to fix this but it will require the deletion of all the data of the wrong users. I can understand that this is not what you like, but we need to do this for protecting ourselves against people who would be able to abuse the program as such.
Hope you understand
Mike

Couldn't Support just give Edwin a free license upgrade that expires in 31 days so that he can do his backups in the meantime? This is kind of an ugly situation for him, and I wouldn't like to be stuck in that position.

Stvajnkf,
Our workflows don't work like that. And even if that would be possible, he would still need to swap out the license in 31 days. But as said above. We are going to have a solution in our next version to solve this
