Hi,
I have a question regarding how the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 will affect the office accounts. If we use default throttling for office 365(40-50 items/s), how will this affect users in the Office 365 organisation as a wide? will this only affect the account we use for backup and slow it down? or will the throttling budget also affect all the other users in the organisation and slow them down also?

Re: Microsoft throttling question
Hi Gisle,
The solution uses impersonation. This means that (with exchange online) the service account that is being used has a separate budget for throttling settings. Specifically, the following:
- EWSMaxConcurrency
- EWSPercentTimeInAD
- EWSPercentTimeInCAS
- EWSPercentTimeInMailboxRPC
- EWSMaxSubscriptions
- EWSFastSearchTimeoutInSeconds
- EWSFindCountLimit
It is possible that you experience server timeouts when you do your first run, but it will only affect the VBO solution and not your users. A rerun after that should then finish the job (unless you have lots of mailboxes and the budget is used again fully...)
Hope it helps
Mike
