Move backup and configuration from one SRV to antoher

Post by ARosenstand »

Hi all

Hoping that someone can help me with this problem, as I'm pretty sure that I so far have done it wrong.

I need to decomission my old Veeam Backup server, and have a new one ready to go.
On the old one, my Office365 backup is running, so i have spend the last couple of days moving the files from old server to new server.

I have also installed Veeam Office365 backup on new server.

If I tries to make a new repository, where the copied backup files are, I get a error:
JetError -550, JET_errDatabaseDirtyShutdown, Database was not shutdown cleanly.

How to I get this up and working properly? Can I export the configuration from the old Server, or anything to help with this problem?

Thanks.

Hello Allan

Configuration backup/restore is something we have on the roadmap. But no ETA we can share.
Today, you need to follow this kb for the migration to a new server:
https://www.veeam.com/kb2649
If I tries to make a new repository, where the copied backup files are, I get a error:
JetError -550, JET_errDatabaseDirtyShutdown, Database was not shutdown cleanly.
Please disable every Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 services before moving the repository files to the new server.
From the error it looks like you copied the backup files (which are databases) while the services were running. Database files must be closed before they are copied/moved to a new location.

Best,

Hi Mildur

Thanks for your feedback.
I have started an new copy of the data, as pr. the guide.
Looking forward to see, how it will end this time :)

There are only 10 hours of data migration left :)

Thanks.
