I just happened to notice that my M365 Teams backup only has conversations within all Teams channels (not "chats", but threads within channels) prior to April 2023.
Did something change that I forgot about, that this data is no longer captured? We're using modern auth and version 7.0.0.4388.
Or is there a UI that perhaps got changed by an admin here that enabled/disables the backup of channel threads?

Re: My Teams Backup No Longer Backs Up Channels
Hi Jim,
Microsoft has deprecated the EWS access to channel messages that we used for backup, and if you didn't take action to switch backup to use paid Teams Export APIs channel messages are no longer protected.
Please check out these KBs to get more details on how to get access to the new paid APIs and configure it on the VB365 side: https://www.veeam.com/kb4322 and https://www.veeam.com/kb4340.

Thank you! Now that you've jogged my memory I do remember answering that question during an upgrade (and choosing not to back up messages). [facepalm]

Many customers revised the need for chat protection when it became associated with additional costs )
