Need to modify retention policy

Post by Oldham1976 »

Product Team. Please see email from Andrew below. He downloaded a trial of Office 365 is evaluating the product. This is his feedback.

Thank you Steve. Though the product is great as a whole but still retention policies for Mailbox Items is a big area to consider for many enterprises. I hope the application could be modified to include months as well.

Is there any way we can configure the retention policy to weeks? I can only see years on the drop down?

Thanks again,

Fairfax Financial

Steve,

For now it is years only. We are indeed considering to make this a bit more granular but probably weeks won't be that easy to do. (The information is in a database so it is not that easy to simply delete like you would be able to do with a incremental backup file such as VBR)

But we are aware of the request and are thinking about possibilities.

Would months already be enough for your customer?

Thanks

Mike, Please see email from Andrew from Fairfax Financial. He is currently running a trial of Office 365. Thank You

Hi Steve,

We definitely need the months or days. Days would probably be easier to configure. Can you check?

Thanks,
Andrew

Thanks Steve,

As I said, I can't promise anything since the logic is a bit more difficult then with our other solutions, but I will talk to the DEV's and see if we (read the DEVs :-)) can come up with something

Steve, could you please provide more details on how the customer is going to use months/days retention to ensure we are on the same page?
