Hi All,
Is there a good way to onboard a tenant with 8000 users? According to best practices, there is a limit of 5000 users per proxy. Is there a smart way to make sure that the load is balanced over 2 proxies?
Regards,
Erwin

Re: onboard tenant with 8000 users
Hi Erwin,
One of the ways is to split protection by workload type and distribute it between several proxies. For example, a job with all 8K user mailboxes can run on one proxy, all OneDrives can be protected with another proxy, and so on.
Thanks!

Hi,
For that one customer i need 4 proxy's to distribute the load. And then the proxy's are "full"?
Regards,
Erwin

Hi,
Each proxy on average can handle 20K objects (i.e. mailboxes, OneDrives, etc.); with 8K users fully protected, you get 32K objects (counting also sites and archive mailboxes). With that, I'd start with 2 proxies. For instance, one is dedicated to Exchange protection (8x2=16K objects), and another one is used for OneDrive and personal sites (another 16K objects). Makes sense?
