Once we stop backing up
Say we have a user that we not longer are going to backup because they are leaving or retiring. Even though we disconnect the user from backing up and free up the license do the files stay stored when we placed them in the invent we have to recover some mail in the future?

Hey there.
The backup data goes out according to retention you have set, so that user's mailbox will stay in the backup according to the retention.

Re: Once we stop backing up
Anthony is correct. The data remains until it is retired according to the retention policy.
What some other companies also do is export their data out (for email to PST for example) and store it somewhere else (such as on a removable media and in the companies vault) as archived data
