Hmmm, I have no idea what that message means to be honest. It seems to be an issue we cannot download it in time, which normally I think should not be an issue.
Please create a support call for this. Maybe you can add already whether it is always the same files that fail, or it is random?

Hi, i have the same warning for some objects (CaseID #07470826). Support answered with this process:
1. *Verify Direct Download*:
- Open the affected OneDrive or SharePoint Online site in a web browser.
- Navigate to the specific file mentioned in the warning.
- Attempt to download the file directly from the site to ensure it is accessible and not corrupted.
2. *Refresh Metadata*:
- If the file can be downloaded directly, try refreshing its metadata by removing and then re-uploading the file to the same location.
- This can help resolve any underlying issues with the file's metadata that might be causing the backup to fail.
3. *Retry the Backup Job*:
- After refreshing the metadata, retry the backup job to see if the issue persists.
I am currently in the process of triggering the warnings in cooperation with the organization concerned. It has already worked out with one warning, but I am still waiting for feedback on the specific steps to be taken.

We got thousands of this warning " Failed to download block in time", and something those files are infected or false postives. Since v8 we didnt see yet the old message "Item may have a virus reported by the virus scanner plug-in" .
Wanna know if this has warning has been replaced.

Mike, can anyone of your Team clarify those messages, we found this messages in keygens , cracks , autoclicker from customers that obviusly are malware. No, the fix wasn't ready when it was released. You can get a hotfix via support and install it on top of 8.0.5.20.
Later on, we will include it in the next v8 patch.

We are seeing a lot of these warnings across all of our tenants.
We have an open support case (#07567298).
We installed patch 8.0.5.2002 when it was suggested by Support, but that did not resolve the warnings for us.
Last week we updated to 8.1.0.305 as suggested by support, that did not resolve the issue either.
Throughout the case we have added multiple custom lines to our source tag in the proxy.xml files as suggested by support:

Hello,
We are still working with support to find a solution.
Support suggested an additional change to proxy.xml files to increase the download timeout value to 24 hours but now we have about 30-40 jobs that run for 24 hours and still give a "failed to download block in time" warning.
We also have a testjob with just 1 user's OneDrive that somehow has been running for 48 hours now

If you're talking bout patch to 8.1.0.2048, we've received the same and "failed to download block in time" are mostly gone.
However, we now have quite a lot of "Item has changed during the backup". Seems to me like veeam is now giving up faster on items beeing edited instead of waiting for them to become readable?
