Postgre update for the Version 8.4.0.1457

Post by OMW72 »

Hi,
In the requiremenst for the update to the version 8.4.0.1457 is the following Postgre part:

Local or remote installation of PostgreSQL 15 (version 15.9 or later) or PostgreSQL 16 (version 16.4 or later).

Is the Postgre update a part of the new Version? That means the update happens automatically if the version is 15.8?

Or I have to do this before I start the version update? If yes, is there a best practice available for the update process of the postgre DB?

I am asking this because we are using the Postgre version 15.8

Greetings
Oliver

Hi Oliver,

The PostgreSQL upgrade is not part of the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 update process; you need to upgrade PostgreSQL separately.

Since VB365 v8.3 already supports PostgreSQL 15.9 or later, I recommend upgrading your PostgreSQL server first and then upgrading Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365. Use the latest PostgreSQL v15 build.

You can follow our KB for the PostgreSQL upgrade procedure: https://www.veeam.com/kb4729
