I would like to add a feature request to allow more granular backups for Project Online

Could you elaborate a bit more on how you are using it right now and what exactly you are looking for so that we can look at supporting it?

Apologies for the delay. We are looking for backups of mpp files and version history of the projects as they are published. Please let me know if you need more information

Hi Patrick,

I believe those are stored on the SharePoint environment in a document library. Can you check that location? Then you can protect those and with our Veeam Explorer for SharePoint restore them (and choose the version you want to restore)

Not having this feature in M365 backup is the only thing stopping us moving away from AvePoint

What Mike wanted to say is, that you likely can backup it as it is stored in a Sharepoint area of M365 which we can backup and restore.

@ossie.wilson
First: Welcome to the forums
Second: Are you using legacy authentication against Project Online? Meaning, a username and password to be able to do the backup?

What's wrong with Avepoint? Any drivers to move away?

Hello all,

one of our customers asks for backup of Microsoft Project Online data with VBO365.
Maybe anyone on this forum has received similar requests!? Please raise your hands! :D

If further information is needed, please let me know! This my first time! :D

Kind regards,

Hi Christian,

I moved your post to the corresponding thread, and as you can see from the above, the demand is present )

Project Online support is on our radar, but there're no APIs yet. We have ongoing discussions with Microsoft and requesting the APIs, but there're no ETAs or commitments at this point.

Hi all, curious if there has been movement on this the last 2.5 years - what is the latest?

Thank you.
