In order to operate properly, Veeam Backup for Office 365 product needs a set of credentials:
1. Password for the access to the MS365 tenant
2. Key/passphrase for the encryption of data on the backup storage
3. Potentially: some other credentials
Question: how are these credentials protected on the server with the Veeam installation in order to prevent access by an attacker?
Is this documented anywhere?
I couldn't find information about this in the online manuals.
thanks, Stefan

Re: Protection of Credentials
Hi, Stefan. They are encrypted using Microsoft CryptoAPI using a machine-specific encryption key. It's the industry-standard approach of storing credentials saved in the data management applications. Thanks!
