Public Folder Backup Error - Expected an item Id but receive

Good Day

VBO 2.0. Backup job configured only for Exchange Items. Job did run fine last few months but since the weekend, i receive the following error

Processing mailbox PF-MBX-Root_MailboxID@company.onmicrosoft.com failed with error: Expected an item Id but received a folder Id.

Is this maybe a known issue or any idea how to fix?

Hi Andre,

Honestly, this is the first time I come across such issue, and can only guess it might be something on the MS side... It'd the best if you open a support case to investigate the problem.

Case #03168847 all started last weekend...

Support mentioned there were at least one other case with he issue as of last Monday.

A quick update on the "Expected an item Id but received a folder Id" error: The root cause seems to be on the MS side; most likely there have been some changes to public folders in O365. Our teams are actively researching the issue. Stay tuned.

The Error seems to be fix by microsoft itself. I just had the confirmation from veeam support. the issue in my backup job did not appear again as well...

Just created a case for the issue (03185278) since we have had the issue since last week, and then it looks like as per agrob's post a few minutes before mine, it is now fixed!

I will close my case!
