Reporting

Since the product doesn't have reporting built in and VeeamONE doesn't support it either, has anyone worked on powershell scripts to bring this to the product?

The built in notification that displays after the job has completely successfully works great, but I'm also looking for something that would report on the retention policy (when run, how long, data removed, etc).

Hi Tim,

Not sure if someone has already done something like this. All the information that is visible in the UI however you should be able to get it through PowerShell.

Out of curiosity. I am always interested to learn what reports we need to bring in the future. Could you let me know what type of reports and what data you would like to see?

Just a quick few:
Report on failed/warning jobs, just like the successful jobs.
Report on retention reclamation (run time/objects deleted)
Report on mailboxes being backed up (with associated space used per mailbox and last known good backup)

I'm looking into Powershell and trying to leverage it to do what I need it to do, but it would be nice if a few canned reports were added.

Admin activity who changed/added jobs, who started a restore session, which mails were touched
Some chargeback information per organization would be nice (total licenses used, total storage used, averages per mailbox/user/site)

Hi, with the introduction of v3 the mentioned reports are available in the console. But there seems to be no option to schedule them. Would be a nice feature to put under Notifications tab.

Hi Thomas,

First: Welcome to the forums
Second: While not perfect, there is a workaround for now to schedule the reports. All of these reports (including parameters) can be called through PowerShell or REST. (For example, PS for a report:https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=30). Those you can schedule in task scheduler.

Hi Mike, thanks. We will start working with this. There have to be variables (1st day of last month to last day of last month) to make this work, but it's probably possible to fix this.

There are if I am not mistaken (Starttime and Endtime) so in your script you should be able to use variables. I am a bit rusty in Windows Scheduler but I believe you can pass %date as a variable for the startdate
